Suse Linux 11.1 ( KDE ) [VMWare Images] | 1.19 GB

Out of the entire experience, the greatest strength has been the stunning visual artwork. It has all come together to form my beautiful desktop. The second best part of the trip so far on SuSE 11.1 has been the acquisition of it.

Yes, getting SuSE Linux has become easier overnight, because it only takes overnight to download it. Metalink is the new technology that combines http, ftp, torrent, and p2p protocol servers into one reference file. The metalink capable client then does all of its magic to maximize your download and MAN was mine tweaked out! I had over 100KB/s the whole time, with the occasional 150! The connection is a 1M broadband link that typically achieves the whopping 80KB/s. The entire 4+ G download took 10.5 hours.

I already lament the next upgrade, because I'll lose my beautiful SuSE Linux 11.1, but I keep telling myself it will be even better than this one. Of course I'm lying to myself as a parent tells the child that their dead bunny, eaten by the dog, has gone to bunny heaven. I don't really believe anything can surpass this beauty in SuSE 11.1 .
