The program window consists of 5 panels without the main menu:

1. Preview - the preview pane in real time will show the image after being subjected to one or another tintii effects. Initially, the image is displayed in shades of gray.

2. Thumbs - panel of thumbnails displaying basic tones of the image detected tintii. Clicking on the sketches you see in the preview window a possible outcome, and the program lets you combine and mix different effects. When you select all the thumbnails with different shades you get the picture in full color.
New in this version - the possibility of using sliders to adjust the saturation, the degree of carbonation to select shades.

3. Preprocessing - preprocess panel, where you can adjust the 3 parameters to tune:
● Pixels - setting the resolution and detection depth of shades
Increasing this setting may improve detection of color in certain situations, but be aware that this will affect the performance and elapsed time, and vice versa
● Reps - setting the number of rehearsals for the detection of tones
● Threshold - Threshold minimum saturation of colors

4. Postprocessing - postprocessing panel, where you can adjust the 3 parameters to tune:
● Decay - thresholds of the sequence of individual tones, adjusting the threshold of saturation (intensity) of the selected tone.
● Edge - adjust the threshold of the sequence boundaries, the effect of saturation boundaries.
● Hardness - adjustable threshold stiffness chosen tints
Post-processing is designed to fine-tune the effect to be applied in order to combat problems such as background noise, neohvat hair, etc.

5. Channel mixer - panel for the color settings in manual mode - red, green, blue (RGB).

The main aim of this release is compatibility - tintii now supports 64-bit Photoshop CS4 & CS5 on Windows and 64-bit Photoshop CS5 on the Mac. Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) support is in there too. The one unfortunate side effect is that I've had to remove support for Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger) in order to update the source for these later platforms. Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) or later is now required; the older version will still work on Tiger of course.

A major update of tintii has been released with a raft of new features to take the filter beyond simple selective colour effects. The core of tintii remains the same, with its unique ability to automatically select the dominant colours of a photo. The program now supports hue, saturation and lightness adjustments on individual colours, as well as a new "Hardness" postprocessing slider that is particularly useful when working with subtle gradients.
