The game is sustained in the scifi style. Player the soldiers involved in Operation Lord (Overlord). In a desperate attempt to protect Earth from alien invasion, humans begin a counterattack on the enemys home planet of the cybernetic Strogg civilization (Strogg). Most of the other soldiers were captured or killed once they entered the atmosphere of the planet. Thus, the player must singlehandedly penetrate the Strogg capital city and eventually kill their leader Macron (Makron)
