What a wonderful conclusion to the Buchanan series! All 3 brothers, Cal & Walker & Reid have found their soulmates so Dani would like to, too. It's been a lousy year she hasn't had the best of luck with men. There was that lousy cheating husband that she divorced, that charming but married man then to top it off the ex-priest who was a nice man but wanted Dani to help him there this hard time for him LOL Dani finds out she isn't a Buchanan really. Her mother had an affair with a this man and she was the outcome of the affair. The Buchanan grandmother, Gloria, has finally told her in a very cruel way of this but now Gloria is trying to be a nice and kind person after her death scare and tells her the man's name. Dani can hardly believe it but does go looking forhim. The story opens with Dani and the adopted son, Alex, of the U.S. Senator Mark Canfield going round and round with sparks flying when she is trying to see the Senator without telling the exact reason she'd like to see him. The Senator happens upon this exchange and hears Dani say the Senator may be her birth father. The Senator is exploring running for President and this will be not a good thing to come out.

The girls have a wonderful, tough best friend, Dana the policewoman who seems to have problems with men too! Lexi finds herself in a financal bind-she had taken a $2 million loan to buy the building her day spa is in and make improvements to make it a bigger business and now the loan is being called in and she doesn't want to go to her father or sister for the money to cover the loan. In steps xxxy Cruz Rodriquez who has business proposition for Lexi.

Lip service is the 2nd in a series about Texas sisters. While I'd agree with other reviewers that Skye, the main character, would not be my favorite female lead in a book, the other characters in the story more than make up for it. One of Susan Mallery's many talents in my opinion, is her ability to write very enjoyable secondary characters. Dana, Joss, and even the chickens add to the fun of this book. In addition to the humor though there is also a lot of emotion and drama brought on by Mitch's injury, Titan family dynamics, and the needs of a little girl. This should be a definite read for any Mallery fan, but read Under Her Skin first! Can't wait for the next one, which will be out soon.

An amazing cast of characters and an extremely powerful and potent love story as only Susan Mallery can write! This is the youngest sister's Izzy's story where in Lip Service we learn Izzy has been involved in an explosion which has caused her severe vision problems. On top of that, her new found step brother is thought to be the cause as he wants not only to take down her father but the three Titan sisters as well. I can't say enough positive things about this series, The Lone Star Sisters. Once you begin to read them you'll certainly understand and each book keeps one wanting more which surely is a sign of how talented Susan Mallery is and what's made her loved by this particular reader and reviewer and put her on the New York Times Bestseller list. Izzy of all the Titan sisters seems the most spirited so when she's kidnapped by the strong, xxxy Nick and taken to his ranch, she feels "like she's been tossed out in the trash". How could her sisters do this to her? She can't see, has no home or inheritance like her sisters and now a stranger is taking her, trying to talk her into having surgery which could leave her blind and on top of everything else wants her to work on his ranch taking care of his horses.
