1996'dan bu yana büyük kedilerin günlüğü bir pembe dizi tadında aslanların, leoparların ve çitaların doğal ortamda başlarından geçenleri ve yaşadıklarını anlatıyor. simon king, kenya– (bkz: Masai Mara) 'ya yeni bir ziyaret yapıp izleyicilerin yıllar boyunca keyifle ve ilgiyle izledikleri bu büyük kedilerle yeniden buluşyor. hem geçmişteki unutulmaz anlar bir daha tazeleniyor hem de son gelişmeler izleniyor.

shadow adlı leopar annesiyle half-tail (yarım kuyruk) ile birlikte ilk defa kameraya alındığında henüz 6 aylıktı. annesi avlanırken, shadow genellikle yaramazlık yapar, ya büyük sağanakların altında kalır ya da ağaçlarda mahsur kalırdı. annesi öldükten sonra, yavrusu yağmacı sırtlanlar tarafından yok edilen shadow'u bundan sonraki yavrusu ile ilgili gelişmeler merakla bekleniyor..

sürünün lideri olan scar, yardımcısını kaybedince, marsh sürüsü oldukça savunmasız düşmüştü. nehrin öte yanından ve civardaki düzlüklerden yöneltilen tehditlere rağmen yine de uzun süre tek başına sürüyü idare etti. ancak, topi alanından iki genç aslan scar'ın liderliğine son verdiler ve dişilerin hakimiyetini ele aldılar. scar'ın yavruları kendilerini savunabilecek yaşa geldikleri için mutlak bir ölümden kurtuldular ve dişiler de şu anda artık birer anne.

deneyimsiz kidogo ve onun hoşgörülü amber'i ile minik yavrusu kike (ki çok yakında bir yıldız olacağı kesin!) vahşi dünyada yaşamlarını sürdürmeye çalışıyorlardı. aslanlarla girdiği ölümcül meydan okuyuşlara rağmen honey ve üç yavrusu çok yakın zamanlarda oldukça iyi durumda gözlenmişti.
