Plot: Wedding in Bessarabia is a simple film. It’s a very European tale – in the best sense of the word – helping to shed light on the relatively obscure history of one region. The film opens on a train, where young Vlad and Vica are having a heated quarrel, yet the love between them appears to be just as dramatic and passionate. A child is on the way; the couple would like to live together, but need money. And so they are on their way from Romania to the girl’s homeland Moldova, where the wedding will be held. An opportunity beckons: to reunite with relatives and receive presents, including the petty cash they will need.
