I started Discotheque work way back in 1967. Always a fan of the Eurovision Song Contest I watched all the regional selections for new talent and in 1973 a group called ABBA failed to make the Swedish selection that year with a Song called 'Ring Ring'. They sang it in Swedish.

Next year they did not make that mistake again, and sang Waterloo in English and the rest as they say is music history. In the late 1980's I made a two hour Audio only Abba Special for North East Community Radio in Aberdeenshire and with a mix of interviews, hits and lesser known Album tracks charted the Rise and Fall of Abba with there music, finishing off the show with me thanking them for the music. It became one of the most requested and repeated shows on that Radio Station.

In the 1990's I became involved with a TV Documentary on Aberdeen's Oil and Gas industry and the impact it made on the local economy. During that award winning documentry, at my suggestion we took time out from the story to sweep our camera's around the Harbour and Coastal Area showing not only the impact of being the Oil and Gas capital of Europe, but the natural beauty of the North East of Scotland.

The backing music while all this was going on... ABBA - Eagle. You can just imagine the camera tracking a majestic sea bird in flight as Eagle plays in full, all 6 min of it. After that panoramic musical break we went back to the serious business of the Documentary.

I learned very early on at Weddings and private functions, if you were struggling a little getting the dance floor warmed up, Play an Abba Record and you will soon be rewarded by dancing.

I was lucky enough to do some piece work for Radio Clyde and got press tickets to see Abba at the Apollo Theatre in Glasgow round about the time Super Trouper got to number one. If I was not a fan before then, I sure as heck was after that concert. So here it is, a Video sound track of my life and many many others of my generation. How many Brides were given away to the music of Abba over the years. I guess we will never know, but here is the reason why contained in all these video's. Timeless song writing with lyrics that are hard to beat, impossible to ignore and just as moving today as they were first time around between 1974 and 1982.
