"The Milky Way" December 18, 2007
We used to think that Earth was at the centre of the universe, but now we know we're not even at the centre of our own galaxy. Countless wonders exist between where earth is situated and the massive black hole at the galactic centre of our galaxy. Within the Milky Way can be found the debris of old, dying stars fuelling the birth of new stars and at the galactic centre hypervelocity stars get catapulted clear beyond the Milky Way's outer rim at unimaginable speeds. Come along for a guided tour of 100,000 light-year-wide family of stars and stellar phenomena we call The Milky Way.

Journey Through the Milky Way is about you me and the history of two hundred billion stars. Our solar system lies in a suburb of a vast celestial city, a colossal community of stars, bound together by gravity the Milky Way galaxy. Today, astronomers are piecing together the evidence which is allowing them to see our galaxy in a new and exciting way, allowing us to take the Earth on an incredible journey through space and time to see how different neighbourhoods of our vast star city would appear if we could visit them close up. Stylishly shot and through intimate interviews which reveal the joy of exploration and revelation of scientific understanding Journey Through the Milky Way will tell the story of our galaxy in a clear, dynamic and, above all, exciting way, giving an incredible insight into how it and everything within
