Kısaltması fps olan ve saniye başına düşen kare sayısının oranını bildirmekte olan bir özellik ile, oynanan oyunlarda fps ölçümü yapılarak sisteminizin durumunu görebilir ve diğer sistemlerle karşılaştırabilirsiniz. Sistem performansı arttıkça fps oranı da artacağından özellikle hız aşırtma(overclock) işlemleri ile uğraşan kullanıcıların oldukça işine yarayacak bir yazılımdır. Oyun içerisinde F12 ve F11 (kendiniz de kısayol atayabilirsiniz) kısayollarını kullanarak ölçüm yapabilirsiniz.
Anlık Ekran Yakalama
Oynadığınız oyunda anlık ekran görünütüsünü Fraps yazılımında bir klavye kısayolu atayarak alabilirsiniz. Varsayılan olarak F10 ile görüntü alabilmenizi sağlayan yazılımla isterseniz belirlemiş olduğunuz aralıklarla otomatik olarak da ekran görüntüsünü yakalama imkanınız bulunmaktadır. Deneme sürümünde yalnızca bmp biçiminde kayıt yapabilme şansınız bulunmaktadır. Yazılımı satın aldığınız taktirde jpg ve png biçimlerinde de kayıt yapabilirsiniz. Klavye kısayolunu kullanarak yakalamış olduğunuz ekran görüntüsünü bir resim işleme yazılımına(örneğin; paint) yapıştırıp kaydetmeniz gerekmektedir.

En sevdiğiniz oyunlarınızı oynarken bunların bir bölümünü kaydetme gereksinimi duyduğunuzda Fraps yazılımını kullanabilirsiniz. 1152x864 çözünürlükte ve saniye başına 100 kare oranı kalitesinde mükemmel kayıtlar yapma imkanı sunan araç ile isterseniz sesleri de kaydedebilirsiniz. Ayrıca fare imlecinin görünmesini istemiyorsanız No cursor seçeneğini işaretleyebilirsiniz. Varsayılan olarak F9 klavye kısayolu ile oyun içerisinde istediğiniz zamanda kayıt yapmaya başlayabilirsiniz. İsterseniz kendiniz de bir klavye kısayolu atayabilirsiniz.
Fraps - программа предназначенная для подсчета количества FPS (кадров в секунду) в приложениях, работающих в режимах OpenGL и Direct3D. Утилита умеет делать скриншоты и записывать видеоролики с изображением с экрана. Это универсальное приложение, способное работать со всеми играми, использующими технологии DirectX или OpenGL. Управлять программой можно не выходя из игры, при помощи горячих клавиш. Главное, заранее убедитесь, что горячие клавиши Fraps не совпадают с клавишами, используемыми в игре. С помощью Fraps можно запечатлеть самые лучшие моменты не только в виде единичных кадров, но и в движении со звуком. Позволяет вывести статистику значений параметра кадров за одну секунду, записав ее в файл, или же отобразить счетчик в одном из углов экрана. Сохраняет отдельные кадры по нажатию горячей клавиши.
