The story of the most fabled political family in American history, told in a manner similar to The Godfather: a manipulative, egocentric father determined to live out his own ambitions through his sons, who in turn spent their lives dancing to his tune while at the same time trying to stand on their own. This is history through personality - the tangled relationships through which paint a picture of one of the most turbulent periods of the modern age. Viewers will be upstairs at the White House, not in the Cabinet Room. Through iconic events in history - the Bay of Pigs, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the civil rights struggle, the mob connection - viewers will learn about the lesser known, yet critical personal stories.

We'll join Tim Sawyer, an army veteran and great-great-grandson of a Civil War surgeon, as he travels to Gettysburg to discover how long a doctor could last working in brutal wartime conditions, where injured bodies were left on the field due to limited space. Sawyer also tries to determine whether, if given the opportunity, his great-great-grandfather could have saved the life of President Lincoln, forever changing history.

The Incredible Human Journey is a five-episode science documentary and accompanying book, written and presented by Alice Roberts, and first broadcast on BBC television in May and June 2009 in the United Kingdom. It explains the evidence for the theory of early human migrations out of Africa and subsequently around the world, attempting to argue in support of the Out of Africa Theory which allegedly states that all modern humans are descended from anatomically modern African Homo Sapiens rather than from the more archaic European/Middle Eastern Homo Neanderthalensis or the indigenous Chinese Homo Pekinensis. And that the modern African Homo Sapiens did not interbreed with the other separate species of archaic humans. Each episode concerns a different continent, and the series features scenes filmed on location in each of the continents featured. The first episode aired on BBC Two on Sunday 10 May 2009
